Dear Colleagues – A summer reminder to all of you researching and publishing to contribute your work to the RCSI open access research repository, epublications@rcsi, http://epubs.rcsi.ie/
What is e-publications@RCSI?
e-publications@RCSI (epubs.rcsi.ie) is an open access repository of the research and scholarly output of RCSI
Where is it?
Go to http://epubs.rcsi.ie or follow the “Search epublications@RCSI” link from the Library web page http://www.rcsi.ie/library
How do I deposit my research?
You can submit directly at http://epubs.rcsi.ie/submit_research.html or via the research database or you can also submit work by emailing epubs@rcsi.ie
What can it do for me?
• Help make your academic work freely available on the web
• Increase worldwide access to your work: over 70,000 full text downloads in 2012 from 10,838 unique visitors from over 130 countries.
• Provide a central archive of your work
• Many Irish funding bodies (e.g. SFI, HEA, HRB) require researchers to submit published work funded by them to an open access repository
What do I need to do?
Keep pre- and post-prints of all your publications!
You can also send us research posters/presentations/book chapters/reports etc
Having trouble submitting, don’t know what to submit?
For questions and information contact:
Jenny Byrne (2407) or Julia Christopher (2405) at Mercer Library; Breffni Smith (8092531) at RCSI Library Beaumont Hospital or Email: epubs@rcsi.ie
Got a Department Publications Page?
Why not do as the Anatomy Department has and put a statement on your department publications page to say those department publications may be available full text in the repository? See http://www.rcsi.ie/anatomypublications for example. (Make sure you’ve submitted them first!)
