Technology and Learning

Team

The technology team is made up of Donncha Ryan (Lead Technology Officer for Surgical Training), Conor Dunphy (Web and ELearning Content Developer/Administrator) and Thomas Connolly (Moodle VLE/eLearning Administrator).
This section is responsible for developing and maintaining the Surgical Training websites, finding and integrating new technologies to enhance communication, learning and skills training, as well as managing the trainee assessments and online learning.

Developments:

www.msurgery.ie
mSurgery is the surgical training website that holds all the policy documents, training videos and supporting material. The login section has functionality for recording operations and completing online forms.

360 Videos

Core operations are recorded in 360 and are available for trainees to view online or in Virtual Reality

AR/VR/AI

Surgical training has created applications in Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and Artifical Intelligence.

Data Analysis

Using powerful data analytics tools, surgical training makes sense of the large amount of data around the operative experience of surgical trainees allowing for better business decisions.

Online Content Delivery

Surgical Training are always looking at ways to improve the delivery of the online curriculum.
Moodle and online courses alongside mSurgery are used.

Event Support

Each year there are several public events that we support in terms of promotional material, the design of graphics, new apps and event management/ticketing.
