Our Vision and Goals

The Mission of RCSI’s Department of Surgical Affairs reflects our core commitment to both Education and Service;   “We will support the RCSI Noble Purpose by delivering excellence in surgical Education & Training and by setting and supporting the highest possible standards in Surgical Practice. We will at all times act in the interests of patients and the quality of their care”

The proud heritage and ethos of RCSI is firmly rooted in surgical training and we remain centrally focused on continuing to train tomorrow’s leaders in surgery who will define and deliver new standards of patient care not just in Ireland, but internationally. Our commitment to not only Fellowship training but to lifelong learning is reinforced through our delivery a Professional Competence Scheme, a Professional Development programmes as well as the recent establishment of the National Office for Clinical Audit. Our leadership role in the National Surgery Programme, reinforces a patient centric partnership with national policy makers in a challenging healthcare delivery arena.

Our strong Fellows, Members & Alumni network facilitates global connectivity and networking as well as  our continued strength to be the professional voice of surgery.
