Awarded at Research Day 2021 for Researchers active in Commercialisation and
Industry Engagement

The 2020 RCSI Innovation Awards were presented by RCSI CEO Prof Cathal Kelly and Dr Aoife Gallagher at Research Day 2021, which was held on Wednesday 10th March. The awards recognise the outstanding contribution of RCSI researchers to research commercialisation and industry engagement activity at RCSI. Congratulations to all the awardees.

Invention Disclosure Award Winners:
The invention disclosure awards recognise the role of non-PI inventors in the submission of invention disclosures; this years awardees were: Danielle Nadar, Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences; Ashwene Rajagopal​, Department of Clinical Microbiology; Mthulisi Khuphe, Department of Chemistry; Robert Murphy, Department of Chemistry; Orla Willis Fox, Department of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences, Luis Soriano, Mark LemoineTehreem Khalid, Ruairi Brannigan, Department of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences, Chiara De Santi, Jennifer Dowling, Remsha Afzal, Frances NallyConor Duffy, Department of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences, Damir Vareslija, Department of Surgery, and Christopher Simpson, Department of Anatomy & Regenerative Medicine.

Industry Engagement Award
This award recognises the researcher who was most successful in obtaining research funding from industry in 2020 and this year was presented to Prof.  Fergal Malone.

Clinician Award
This award recognises the clinically qualified researcher most successful in research commercialisation and industry engagement and this year was presented to presented Prof. Richard Costello.

Commercialisation Award
This award recognises the researcher whose research is licensed or optioned by a company for the highest value and this year was presented to TERG  – Tissue Engineering Research Group.
