EU Regional Development Funds (ERDF)

Certain Research Grant Awards received from Enterprise Ireland are eligible for funding under the EU Regional Development Fund.

Certain additional criteria needs to be adhered to regarding these Research Grants, details of which are outlined below:

Expenditure Eligibility Guidelines

In order for expenditure incurred on an EI/ERDF research grant to be deemed eligible, it must conform to 5 main criteria. These are as follows:

  1. The Date Expenditure was incurred and paid must fall within the approved eligibility period of 01 January 2007 to 31 December 2015
  2. The Purpose of the Expenditure must be in accordance with the criteria approved by the Organisational Programme Monitoring Committee
  3. Expenditure must comply with the Department of Finance Circular 16/2008 which defines the 17 National Eligibility rules. The Finance Department will review all expenses prior to claim submission to ensure compatibility with this circular. Please see Powerpoint presentation below outlining these rules
