In 2025, RCSI will once again run three Transition Year Programmes. Students will select their chosen Programme – Medicine, Pharmacy/Advanced Therapeutic Technologies, or Physiotherapy and experience what it is like to train and work in their chosen professions.
All sections of the programmes are carried out by leading professionals in their respective areas with a wide variety of topics – including general practice, heart surgery, pathology, paediatrics, forensic medicine, transplants, pharmacy, and physiotherapy being covered during the programme. Real life surgeries and Q&A with students will complete an exciting and informative week. For some, it will be the beginning of their journey to training and working as a healthcare professional and for all who take part, we hope that it will be a highlight of their Transition Year experience.

For those students unable to attend the in-person TY MiniMed programme in RCSI we are offering them the possibility to view the programme online, live streamed, from the Desmond Auditorium.
We will have limited places and only students who are entering Transition Year in September 2024 are eligible to take part. Our TY Programmes are incredibly popular so it will not be possible to meet demand for places for all staff registrations.
The Staff Lotto will open over summer, dates to be confirmed, and will be advertised on WorkVivo.
