Coursera –As part of their Coronavirus response, Coursera is giving universities access to their catalogue of high quality online courses until September 2020. Coursera offers thousands of courses from leading universities and companies. We have worked with Coursera to secure licences for RCSI staff and students, if you wish to avail of a licence please sign up here.

VitaeVitae is the global leader in supporting the professional development of researchers and RCSI are institutional members. Membership provides access to a wide range of resources including online materials, publications and reports all  aimed at enhancing researcher development.

Times Higher Education – RCSI has an institutional subscription to THE online and digital editions of their magazine. If you are interested in following relevant articles use your RCSI email address to register.

Nature MasterclassesRCSI staff have access to the Nature masterclass series on Scientific Writing and Publishing.  This online programme is written by an expert panel of editors from Nature research journals and is designed to give researchers a unique insight into writing and publishing a great research paper. Topics include data presentation, the editorial process and measuring impact.

 1:1 Coaching: Coaching is a confidential and impartial one-to-one process which enables self-learning and development. If offers a reflective space which can be used  to enhance skills and develop strategies to be more effective. Typically coaching sessions take place over 4-6 sessions but during this time even 1 or 2 sessions could be useful in helping you adjust to new ways of working and unexpected challenges. We have a number of accredited leadership and executive coaches in HR and 1:1 appointments are available. Please contact catrionacampbell@rcsi.ie in Staff Learning and Development if you’d like to avail of coaching support.

 Staff Networks – Connecting with others is really important at this time and there are a range of  Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Staff Networks in place which you may like to join which would link you in with colleagues who may be facing similar challenges. The networks include:

  • LGBT+ Pride Network
  • Men’s Shed
  • Parents and Carers’ Network
  • Women’s Network

You can register your interest to join here, where you’ll be added to the mailing list and invited to the relevant Workvivo space.

RCSI WorkVivo Spaces- What are spaces?

Spaces allow you to create areas within Workvivo for people to come together around a specific topic, theme or interest, where conversations and collaboration can happen outside of the main RCSI Workvivo feed. Each space has its own activity feed, news articles, events and members and are managed by a space admin (or admins). The activity of a space is only visible to people who have specifically joined a space. Spaces can be open to all RCSI staff or a space admin can control it so that only specific people can join.

RCSI Gym team are running two daily live classes during the week and at weekends too. You can join on the RCSI Clubs and Socs Facebook page for the live sessions and to catch up on previous classes. Just ‘like’ the page you access them here.

Mercer’s Medical: Mercer’s medical GP practice remains open if you are  unwell for non-COVID 19 health concerns and will continue  to provide key services for students and staff. In doing so,  they will be following guidance on maintaining health and  wellbeing of patients, students and staff. If you have fever  / cough – DO NOT GO TO MERCERs or any GP and instead visit HSE.ie for latest advice. Mercer Medical Centre have a Covid-19 Information page which is regularly updated in line with HSE advice, you can view this here. 

Mental Health Supports – The HSE has curated a wide range of freely accesible mental health supports and services available to everyone during COVID-19

Bereavement Supports – The Irish Hospice foundation have a range of supports for both the public and healthcare staff on the topic of bereavement from COVID-19 Care and Inform Hub

In this short illustrated e-book Emma  reminds us that nothing about this time has been normal, and she offers practical advice with tiny steps to address this.

RCSI Car Park

The RCSI Car Park is located on Mercer St., also referred to the RCSI/St. Stephens Green Car Park.  Staff and Students can avail of a daily discount.  Complete this application form and bring to the Car Park Office on ground floor of car park (at the York St. entrance).  If you have any queries, contact estate@rcsi.ie
