Overview of Activities and Contact Details

Support for Degree Awarding Programmes:
We support key academic processes for students and staff  in Undergraduate Medicine (Foundation Year & Junior Cycle), Physiotherapy and Pharmacy programmes, including:

  • Registration and orientation
  • Coordinating the teaching and exam calendars
  • Managing personal tutors and attendance
  • Providing secretariat to Cycle Committees
  • Organising all aspects of examinations, including results entry and student rollover in Quercus
  • Production of transcripts for students and sponsors

Support for Members and Fellows
We support Membership & Fellowship candidates by:

  • Administering the membership & fellowship examinations
  • Liaising with the other Royal Colleges and Intercollegiate boards as appropriate
  • Tracking candidate status across exam centres
  • Keeping abreast of current policies and regulations
  • Running examinations in multiple exam centres nationally and internationally
  • Ensuring consistent standards across the board

We also have strong links with the Graduate Entry Programme, the School of Nursing & Midwifery, the Department of Surgical Affairs, the School of Postgraduate Studies and the Institute of Leadership to ensure consistency across academic processes in these areas.

Contact Details:

Roisin Doyle, Head of Academic Operations: Roisin oversees the SARA team and works closely with Edel Byrne and also with Judith Gilroy. Roisin is responsible for the overall coordination and management of the Campus Support Team and ensuring a world class service is provided to all our students in undergraduate Foundation Year and Junior Cycle Medicine, Physiotherapy and Pharmacy, Membership and Fellowship candidates, as well as sponsors and staff.

Edel Byrne, Academic Operations Team Manager: Edel has a similar role to Roisin, she would operate in a team with both Roisin and Judith and would liase closely with all Faculty Coordinators and would help with any queries they would have. Edel plays a leading role in the smooth running of the various examinations.

Maria Giovanna Fenu, Senior Faculty Coordinator: Maria supports Edel and the SARA team in several areas with a focus on activities related to new systems implemented, such as InPlace or Practique.

Zoe Cashman, Senior Faculty Coordinator:  Zoe also supports Edel with Maria in managing the team and also is at the forefront of Practique during exams.

Mary Plunkett, Faculty Coordinator: Mary organises and facilitates the invigilating team for examinations and is an Erasmus administrator also.

Margie Morgan, Faculty Coordinator: Margie is the first point of contact for the administrative support of the Foundation Year in the undergraduate medical programme and also all years of the Physiotheraphy programme.

Beatriz Gonzaga Burke, Faculty Coordinator: Beatriz is the point of contact for the Year 1 undergraduate medical programme.

Yeukai Chikwamba, Faculty Coordinator: Yeukai is in charge of the Year 2 undergraduate medical programme.

Chloe Creaven, Faculty Coordinator: Chloe oversees all years of the Pharmacy programme along with Edvan.

Edvan De Santana, Faculty Coordinator:  Edvan works as part of a two person team with Chloe in facilitating all years of Pharmacy.

William Pratt, Faculty Coordinator:William aids the other Faculty Coordinators with their year groups and also particularly in exam time, he provides additional support to the time at large.

Naoise Darby, Front of House Coordinator: Naoise helps with student queries and works closely with each Faculty Coordinator regarding this.
