Communicating your news

If you have an interesting news story, research-findings or upcoming event, please e-mail the Communications Department with details of news/research findings/events –  communications@rcsi.ie

The department will review the request via email or will set up a meeting to decide on communications plan. This may consist of external communications channels (e.g. press release to media, news story on RCSI website, social media) internal communications channels (WorkVivo, VC Memo) or a combination of both.

Sufficient notice should be given in advance of event/ publication (at least four weeks in advance)

Any ad-hoc media queries you receive must be directed immediately to Communications Department with details of the request.

Research publications

To allow sufficient time to plan and prepare for communications activity, please notify the Communications Department of any significant/ newsworthy research papers at least four weeks in advance. As the gap between papers being accepted and online publication can be very short, in many cases, you will need to engage with the Communications Department before a paper is accepted to maximise impact.

For research publications, the following document must be completed and returned to the Communications Department: Research Innovation Communications Briefing Document
