  • Continuous Professional Development Support Scheme (CPDSS) At the request of the HSE we have developed a specialty specific Continuous Professional Development Support Scheme to facilitate NCHDs in Surgery and Emergency Medicine who are not engaged in specialist training to maintain their professional competence. The RCSI Continuous Professional Development Support Scheme will enable NCHD’s enrolled in the programme to achieve a minimum of 20 External Credits per annum. These credits can be counted towards meeting the NCHD’s requirements as stipulated by the Medical Council regarding the maintenance of professional competence. NOCA  – National Office of Clinial Audit

NOCA was established in 2012 to create sustainable clinical audit programmes at national level. National clinical audit is an ongoing review of clinical practice- measuring structures, processes and outcomes to make improvements. NOCA supports hospitals to learn from their audit cycles. The National Standards for Safer Better Healthcare (HIQA 2012) recommends that where national audits exist, hospitals should have an agreed audit plan for participation. www.noca.ie

Cocecsa  – College of Surgeons East, Central & Southern Africa

COSECSA was formed in 1999 to advance education, training, examinations standards, research and practice in surgical care by increasing the number of appropriately trained, well qualified surgeons and surgically trained general medical officers. It is an independent body that provides standardised surgical training in nine countries: Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda,, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
