Dated - 25
The EU-funded TRANSFoRm project is hosting a conference in Brussels on 24-25 September that will bring together EU and US researchers, clinicians, industry stakeholders and Electronic Health Record vendors to exchange knowledge.
The underlying concept of TRANSFoRm is to develop a ‘rapid learning healthcare system’ driven by advanced computational infrastructure that can improve both patient safety and the conduct and volume of clinical research in Europe. The conference will discuss the possibilities for a Learning Health System (LHS) for Europe integrating clinical research and better and safer patient care. A clinically oriented session will be followed by speeches about aspects of informatics and sustainability in the heterogeneous European environment. The conference is organised by the TRANSFoRm Project, EuroRec, ECRIN and the EHR4CR Project.
The conference will also showcase TRANSFoRm project work including ICT tools supporting conduct of electronic clinical trials, and diagnostic decision support tools developed in collaboration with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland who are a TRANSFoRm partner.
There are a number of recognised keynote speakers from European and American contributors working on different aspects related to the Learning Health System:
