Pressure ulcers are devastating wounds affecting up to 25% of patients in health care and drain approximately 4% of annual healthcare expenditure. World Stop Pressure Ulcer Day aims to raise awareness of these wounds among clinicians and the public, in a drive to increase the focus of both research, education and practice towards the elimination of these largely preventable wounds
