This session will be of interest to all those who are looking at using e-Portfolios (with a particular focus on Mahara) for their teaching and personal development.

e-Portfolios have real potential to be an important tool to present reflective, evidence-based accounts of emerging skills and knowledge. HPEC are delighted to welcome Lisa Donaldson, who will present an interactive lunchtime session on e-portfolios. The functions and affordances of e-portfolios will be outlined and the Mahara (open source e-portfolio platform), recently introduced to DCU, with examples of e-portfolio practices across many disciplines will be showcased.

The influence of a community of practice to develop a culture of e-portfolio and improve competencies will discussed and all participants will be invited to become part of Mahara IRL – an e-Portfolio Users Group for Ireland – https://mahara.org/group/maharairl
