RCSI Department of Physiology & Medical Physics celebrate hat-trick of successes

Pictured (l-r) is Dr Tobias Engel, Prof Jochen Prehn, Prof David Henshall and Dr Alice O’Farrell, all of the RCSI Department of Physiology & Medical Physics, who were celebrating a series of successes for the department and the Centre For Systems Medicine recently. The FutureNeuro research centre, led by Prof Henshall, received funding from SFI totalling at over €7 million over 6 years. Dr Engel was successful in receiving almost € 3.5 million for his PurinesDX study, and Prof Annette Byrne (missing from photo) received €3.8 million for the consortium, GLIOTRAIN: which is researching treatments for the form of brain cancer, Glioblastoma. Congratulations to the many members of staff involved in these successes
