Held annually in over 30 countries, RCSI and the British Council have teamed up for the first time to bring FameLab, one of the world’s biggest science communication competitions, for a mini-heat on Wednesday, 21 November.
Armed only with their wits and a few props, the top newest voices from the world of science, technology, engineering and maths will deliver three-minute talks on weird and wonderful science concepts. Expect to hear anything from the effects of caffeine on the body to why we should protect parasites, from the curable qualities of CRISPR to the cosmic lighthouses known as pulsars.
Presentations will then be judged according to FameLab’s golden rules – the three Cs: Content, Clarity and Charisma.
The top participants from the FameLab RCSI mini-heat will go on to take part in the Dublin heat in March, with a chance to represent the region at the FameLab Ireland national final on 11 April 2019.
