Project and Post Description:
The objective of this post is to provide communications support to the clinical project co-ordination team, and the communications team, for the RCSI Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology /Rotunda Research Department based at the Rotunda Hospital.
We are seeking an individual that is passionate about research and able to communicate its merits to a variety of audiences. The successful candidate will have strong writing skills, event management experience and social media experience, with a keen interest in sexual health.
The RCSI/Rotunda Research Department has a number of research communication and outreach initiatives planned for 2022. The successful candidate will mainly work on “Debunking the Myths-The Science behind Our Sexual Health”. This is a workshop series for teenager students focused on sexual health. The programme, delivered and approved by medics, research scientists and other experts, is a highly interactive and participative event, which provides clear, concise, and accurate information in relation to sexual health in order to inform and educate.
We are now in the process of scaling up our existing project to a national level, engaging more students, incorporating live streaming and creating a library of resources for secondary school teachers. Moreover, we will launch a robust digital and social media campaign, and collate all our resources in an interactive website. In order to do so, the Communication Officer will support the Project Manager to significantly increase the project’s scope. This post will involve the production and promotion of these initiatives, as well as other communication duties for the RCSI/Rotunda Research Department.
We are all too aware that imposter syndrome and the confidence gap can sometimes stop fantastic candidates putting themselves forward, so please do submit an application — we’d love to hear from you.
