All equipment for the Damer Hall is at the porters’ desk and can be signed out from them. These include a VGA cable with Audio, a remote control for the projector and a microphone.
Please note the hall contains no PC and you must supply your own laptop. If you are using a Mac you will need a VGA to Mac Converter cable.
ROOM INSTRUCTIONS
Connect Laptop to VGA Socket at Wall Box interface.
If Audio required, connect Laptop Audio Out to Mini-Jack socket directly under VGA socket on Wall Box Interface. The Audio is preset, adjust audio output on Laptop only.
With Remote Control (Damer Hall), switch on data projector by pressing Blue Button once. Point the remote control at the projector hanging from the roof, not at the back of the room or the screen above you. Wait 30 Seconds…
If there is no picture, select Computer 1 on Remote Control.
If still no picture, simultaneously press FN & F5 or F4 on Laptop.
If still no picture, contact Media Services on 2170.
N.B.
It is the responsibility of the user to turn off projector and return the Remote Control to the Porter’s Desk post lecture/class this saves on replacing the lamp causing the system to be down for maintenance.
You must have and use your own Laptop, VGA cable and Audio cable (Mini-jack to Mini-jack).
If you do not possess a VGA or Audio Lead, you may
SIGN-OUT the leads from the Media Services Department if the porters have none.
N.B. Failure to SIGN-IN leads to the Media Services Department will incur a penalty of the replacement costs of the said lead(s).
