Economics of Cancer Research Symposium

Dated - July 9, 2013

Dear Colleague,

You are invited to participate in the Inaugural Economics of Cancer Research Group Symposium that will take place on Monday 2nd September at NUI Galway. This symposium is being undertaken thanks to a HRB (KEDS) grant.

Registration details for the symposium may be found here: http://www.conference.ie/Conferences/index.asp?Conference=243 and registration is free.

At the symposium there will be key policymakers and speakers and attendees from Ireland, Europe and the United States. Speakers on the day include Dr Robin Yabroff, National Cancer Institute; Dr Anirban Basu, University of Washington; Dr Linda Sharp, National Cancer Registry Ireland; Professor Richard Sullivan, King’s College London; Professor Bengt Jonsson, Stockholm School of Economics; Dr Mauro Laudicella, Imperial College London; and Professor Michael Kerin NUI Galway.

The Economics of Cancer Research Group will develop a network to facilitate communication and knowledge exchange within the cancer research community and between other stakeholders involved in cancer care including policy makers, advocacy groups, clinicians, academics and the media. It is hoped this group will provide an infrastructure for an ongoing dialogue to facilitate the conduct and dissemination of policy relevant research as well as helping to shape future research agendas in the economics of cancer.

If you have any questions relating to the symposium contact at b.walsh4@nuigalway.ie.
