Estates and Support Services project update

Dear Colleagues,

The Estates and Support Services department has recently completed a number of impressive projects in a range of locations, including RCSI campuses on St. Stephen’s Green and Beaumont , York House and in Mercer Street. Here is a short summary of each of their projects:

• Cancer Genetics & New Chemistry Lab, York House
This project involved the construction of new Cancer Genetics Cell Culture Lab and write up Space for 9 staff in the main Cancer Genetics Lab in York House as well as building a new Chemistry Research Lab, Equipment Room and write up space for 8 people.

• RCSI Student Services Centre, Beaumont Hospital
The refurbishment included a general modernisation of the space to include; painting and new flooring throughout, provision of kitchen/canteen facilities for the students, redesign of the Student Welfare office to accommodate additional staff. This project is well advanced with completion expected on the week ending the 23rd of August.

• Admissions and Student Services Office, 123 St. Stephens Green
The Admissions and Student Services space in St Stephens Green has been refurbished to improve aesthetics and give a space increase of 40%. The refurbished space now incorporates the Fees Office which has been relocated within the SARA open plan office.

• Former Respiratory Laboratory, Department of Physiology, 123 St. Stephens Green
This project involved the complete refurbishment of the former Respiratory Lab on the 1st Floor 123 St. Stephens Green. The space was converted to offices for Prof David Henshall and Prof Aidan Bradford, together with write up space for 6 post docs.

Fit out of Textile House, Mercer Street
Textile house is a first floor space located opposite the Mercer GP Centre. The new fit out currently houses the Irish Institute of Pharmacy. The project involved the complete refurbishment of the RCSI demise in Textile House. The space was converted to an open plan main office, two private offices, meeting room and kitchen.
