Currently there are suggestions that cervical musculoskeletal dysfunction has a role in the causes of the common recurrent headaches of migraine, tension-type and cervicogenic headaches. This lecture will debate these suggestions and discuss the role of physiotherapy in headache management and is aimed at healthcare professionals with a clinical interest in this area.
Professor Gwendolen Jull AO, MPhty, PhD, FACP is Emeritus Professor at the University of Queensland and continues her clinical and research interests in the diagnosis and management of cervical disorders. Gwen has published extensively in the field with over 270 publications, 3 books and 40 book chapters and is chief editor of the recently released 4th edition of Grieve’s Modern Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Gwen is co-editor of the international journal, Manual Therapy. She teaches nationally and internationally on the assessment and management of cervical disorders. She is a Fellow of the Australian College of Physiotherapists, and a specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapist.
