Dear Colleague
I am delighted to inform you of a joint European / Irish Healthcare event on October 2nd next. The Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) is the national contact point for the European Network for Patient Safety and Quality of Care (PaSQ).
The PaSQ Joint Action initiative aims to strengthen co-operation between EU member states on issues relating to the quality and safety of patient care. As part of this work Ireland is hosting a learning day, Health and Social Care Priorities for Ireland – Learning with Europe, on Thursday October 2nd 2014 in Dublin Castle Conference centre. The three themes for the day are:
- The Deteriorating Patient
- Medication Safety
- The Vulnerable Elderly.
Keynote speakers from The Netherlands, Norway and the UK who have successfully implemented quality improvement initiatives in these areas will speak on the day. Afternoon workshops will provide an opportunity for speakers and their Irish counterparts and colleagues to further share and discuss their work in chaired sessions. An outline of the day is attached for your information.
