Dear Colleagues,
RCSI Health and Safety would like to highlight some personal security issues for staff, students and visitors around College buildings and in the city centre area.
You should always be aware of personal security and safety issues such as:
- Try and arrange to walk with a friend and stay in well-lit, populated streets;
- If you observe anybody acting suspiciously inside or outside College buildings contact Security staff immediately on 2219 or contact the Gardai on 112 or 999;
- If you feel threatened on the street, walk or run towards other people, occupied buildings, shop etc. If you feel physically or verbally threatened report to Security immediately in one of the RCSI buildings for assistance or phone the Gardai on 112 or 999;
- Be cautious of cars stopping to ask for directions especially if you are on your own – if in doubt do not approach the vehicle and keep walking;
- Be attentive of your soundings and do not openly display cash or mobile phones
If you need any additional advice or assistance please contact Health and Safety on ext. 2107
Kind regards,
RCSI Health and Safety
