Dear Colleagues,
I am happy to announce that the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland Heritage Collections web pages have been updated and a blog has been created to share the unique and amazing collection of material relating to the history of medicine in Ireland and abroad.

The collection covers the last 250 years and touches on medical as well as on the social, historical and personal events that took place. The variety and scope of this material is immense ranging from ivory handled operating knives to Emily Dickson’s birth certificate; from tapestries embroidered by the wife of one of the founders of the college, Sylvester O’Halloran, and finally to a handwritten and signed speech given by William Stoker to the Royal College of Physicians in 1835.
The RCSI Heritage Collections are currently closed to readers to facilitate a major cataloguing initiative. Please check our blog for regular updates and interesting posts about the collections content.
