As part of the 1st Brazil-Ireland Science Week http://rbi.ie/science-week/ RCSI School of Postgraduate Studies, in collaboration with the Tissue Engineering Group (TERG), Department of Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry, the 3U-Centre of Excellence in the Neuroscience (COEN) and the Department of Physiology is hosting a symposium to showcase research conducted in RCSI.
In the morning session researchers from TERG laboratory and Federal University of Rio De Janeiro will showcase the ongoing collaboration in the area of Bioengineering and Cell Therapy.
In the following session the Department of Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry will highlight the diverse chemistry-based research activities being undertaken at RCSI and meet with Brazilian delegates interested in potential collaborations. The Department will also host a seminar by Ana Maria da Costa Ferreira, Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of São Paulo, Institute of Chemistry (IQ-USP) São Paulo, Brazil. Prof da Costa Ferreira’s research interests include the roles of metal ions in biology and the development of novel metal-based drugs.
The afternoon session on neurological disease will feature 3U/RCSI and Brazilian speakers who will highlight their research areas.
