25th Sheppard Prize competition

The 25th Sheppard Prize competition was held in Beaumont Hospital on Tuesday 17th February 2015. Pictured (l-r) are Barry Morris AstraZeneca (Sponsor) Noreen Lacey (winner of the Phd Oral Presentation) Dr Sarah Landers (winner of the MD oral presentation prize) and Professor Noel G McElvaney. There were over 29 poster presentations and 6 oral presentations for MDs and PhDs working in Beaumont hospital. The competition was attended by a large and appreciative crowd and the adjudicators Prof Arnie Hill, Prof David Williams, Dr Alan Moore, Dr Amar Agha, Dr Liam Grogan, Dr Peter Branagan, Dr Cedric Gunaratnam, Dr Ross Morgan had a very difficult task choosing the eventual winners who were Dr. Sarah Landers who won the MD oral presentation prize and Dr Noreen Lacey who won the PhD oral presentation prize. Both projects were funded through the HRB/MRCG scheme and were jointly supervised by Dr Emer Reeves and Professor Gerry McElvaney. Dr Philip O’Halloran(RCSI Neurosurgery) was winner of the 1st poster prize and Sinead Quinn (RCSI Molecular Medicine) was winner of the 2nd poster prize.
