The European Vaccine Initiative (EVI) is the first European product development partnership. The groups Scientific Advisory Committee met at RCSI on the 24th March and this is leading up to the implementation of the group’s new strategic plan this year. EVI is leading European efforts to develop effective, accessible, and affordable vaccines against diseases of poverty. EVI’s vision is ‘a world free of the intolerable burden of diseases of poverty within the coming decades’. RCSI is one of its seven members. Irish Aid supports the vaccine development done at EVI for the last 10 years.
