Pictured is Prof Celine Marmion (centre in blue) with Foundation Year students, and members from the Irish Hospice Foundation (IHF), who completed an elective component under Celine’s supervision as part of their module on professionalism. Students had to raise funds for the IHF as well as raising awareness of the importance of palliative care. Through creative fund-raising initiatives held in RCSI, they raised €3,984.62 which was recently presented to Marie Lynch, IHF Programme Development Manager (holding cheque on the right hand side). The IHF has confirmed that this donation will contribute to their Nurses for Nightcare Programme providing ‘13 nights of comfort, care and reassurance for those nearing the end of life and their families’.
