RCSI’s Quality and Process Improvement Centre (QPIC) will provide applied Quality Improvement (QI) training and facilitation on-site at hospitals participating in the National Theatre Quality Improvement Programme. The National Theatre Quality Improvement Programme is collaboration between the HSE’s Integrated Care Programme for Patient Flow within its Clinical Strategy and Programmes Division, the National Clinical Programme in Surgery (NCPS) and the National Clinical Programme in Anaesthesia (NCPA). This very practical training supports multidisciplinary healthcare teams to build on their QI skillsets while designing and implementing improvements in their own service delivery. This approach supports the participating hospitals in delivering real improvements while building sustainable improvement capability which will benefit staff and patients. The TQIP programme will roll out to further sites nationally in the coming months.
