Title: International Engagement Officer

Role Summary
The objective of this post to provide direct support for the Deputy Dean for International Scholarship in building strong international collaborations, partnerships and strategic alliances, in particular for the support of international collaborative grant applications in the priority areas Cancer, Neuroscience and Data Science, for the success of the university in its research and teaching activities. The successful candidate will provide a high level function in the ongoing development, maintenance and completion of top-end academic and research collaborations.
Specific duties
- Working with the Deputy Dean in the development and implementation of prioritised international partnerships in research and education, with emphasis on the areas of Cancer, Neuroscience, and Data Sciences in line with the RCSI International Impact and Engagement Plan.
- Working with the Deputy Dean in grant applications in relation to the above and liaising with similar offices at partner institutions to coordinate joint international collaborative efforts and grant applications and their implementation once funded
- Providing support to the All Ireland Cancer Research Institute (AICRI) and its current and future research programs (e.g., https://www.aicri.org/aicristart), and other upcoming North-South and UK-Ireland international research programmes
- Develop a framework and support the internationalisation of the Beaumont RCSI Cancer Centre
- Support funding applications for collaborations with established university partnerships and those in development with European and North American universities

Provide support in grant applications and Research Ethics committees (REC) applications

Preparation of reports (sponsors, Ethics committees).

Identifying new international engagement opportunities in outreach/public engagement in the areas of Cancer, Neuroscience and Data Science research and education in partnership with RCSI Communications and Insights and Planning Offices.
- Undergoing programmes of training and development as may be required from time to time.
- Performing such other duties as may be requested from time to time.
Qualifications:
- A higher degree (e.g., M.Sc., PhD) and background in biomedical science or project management, and prior research and/or education managing skills.
