Reports to: Medical Director, NDTP
Accountable to: Model 3 Hospital Project Steering Group
Base: NDTP Offices, Heuston South Quarter, Dublin 8 (A defined level of attendance at the NDTP offices will be required and discussed with post holder)
Details of Service
The National Doctors Training and Planning (NDTP) function incorporates Medical Education and Training, Consultant Appointments, Doctors Integrated Management E-System (DIME) and Medical Workforce Planning.
The department has a number of responsibilities relating to the Medical Workforce in the Irish Health Service. These include:
- Developing and delivering medical education and training strategies
- Medical Workforce Planning for all levels of medical staff
- Approval and regulation of consultant post
- Management of a large database of Medical Workforce data (DIME)
