RCSI Enterprises supports senior management in identifying and assessing new international opportunities.
The services include developing appropriate international strategies, identifying suitable markets, potential partners and operational models, assessing opportunities, negotiation, and project managing the opportunity to implementation.
For ideas emerging from within RCSI, the typical process adopted by Enterprises would be in four stages:
- Disclosure and initial consideration of an idea;
- Evaluation of the idea in terms of (a) its commercial potential and (b) its alignment with RCSI’s Strategic Plan;
- Development of the idea into an operating venture, including structure, business plan, organisation, etc, all leading to the execution of the venture;
- Ongoing monitoring of the venture to assess its performance against original objectives.
Where an idea emanates from academic research, the Technology Transfer Office will, as before, assist RCSI’s staff and students to commercialise possible intellectual property where appropriate.
