What is RCSI Breakers

The RCSI Breakers is a lunchtime running group for RCSI staff members. It is a 15 week programme that is designed to help staff prepare for the Breast Cancer Ireland Great Pink Run. A certified fitness instructor and running coach takes lunchtime running sessions on Tuesdays and Wednesdays every week.

What’s involved and for how long?

  • The programme is 15 weeks in total but there are different start dates set for different running levels
  • You will need to submit your current running ability and we will let you know at what stage of the programme you should begin
  • Each week participants run 3 times per week, once of which will be a supervised run at lunchtimes with a certified fitness instructor and running coach
  • The first training sessions will begin the week of the 18th May and will finish the week of 24th August
  • This programme is free for all RCSI staff and is open to both men and women.

How do I sign up?

To register for the programme and to find out your start date just email your name to sportsandsocial@rcsi.ie and include your current running ability from the following options:

  • I am a total beginner
  • I can run for 10 minutes
  • I can run for 20 minutes
  • I can run 5K in 30 minutes
