RCSI Education Innovation Award 2021

The Health Professions Education Centre (HPEC) invites submissions for the RCSI Education Innovation Award.

The inaugural RCSI Education Innovation Award was presented at the International Education Forum in 2019.  This award was developed to recognise the importance of innovation in teaching and learning, as well as to promote and highlight examples of innovative educational practice in medicine and health sciences education. Furthermore the introduction of this award aims to promote professional development of educators within RCSI.

In its evaluation of applications received for shortlisting, a judging panel will consider originality, impact and potential applicability of the innovation across specialisms.

Submissions selected will be scheduled for a Blackboard Collaborate presentation on 22nd September at 12.00pm. Each submission will be given 3 minutes for presentation using a maximum of 3 slides followed by 5 minutes for questions. The submissions will be judged by a Dean’s Committee and the winning innovation will receive an RCSI Education Innovation Award.

Applications are self-nominated and are invited from educators across the college including RCSI Dublin, Bahrain and PU-RCSI. The application form for this award is available for download here.

Winners will receive an RCSI Education Innovation Award Certificate and €1000 to support attendance at an educational or scientific conference.

The deadline for completed application forms is 13th August 2021 and applications must be sent by email to the HPEC office at: hpec@rcsi.ie.
