RCSI Inspire Physical Health

Regular physical activity is one of the most important things people can do to improve their health and well being. People who are physically active have a reduced risk of developing diseases such as heart disease and type 2 diabetes.

The benefits include maintaining weight loss, improving your mood, boosting your energy and promoting better sleep. RCSI provides a range of resources, programs and services that aim to create a supportive workplace that improves participation in and increases physical activity levels. For more information on how you can improve your physical ability levels check out this “Lets Get Physical” webinar created as part of the #RCSItogether webinar series during the summer 2020 Covid-19 restriction period, presented by our colleagues in the School of Physiotherapy. This webinar looks at activity across the spectrum including reducing sedentary behaviour and increasing light to moderate physical activity levels, maintaining high levels of physical fitness, resistance training and exercise for children. You can find the recording here and the also the slides used which includes movement suggestions Lets get physical 19th May 2020 slides
