What We Do

The RCSI Health Professions Education Centre (HPEC) was established in June 2013 in line with the college’s strategic goal of achieving Excellence in Education. The RCSI strategy places an increasing emphasis on the professionalisation of teaching, learning and assessment within programmes and enshrines academic educational development and research across the institution.

The RCSI Health Professions Education Centre (HPEC) will provide academic support in

• Teaching, assessment and learning innovation;

• Development and delivery of a flexible, multi-modal and workplace-based curriculum,

• Technology enhanced learning;

• Pedagogical research that informs practice.

The RCSI HPEC will build on existing good practice and seek to generate opportunities for staff engaged in teaching and learning activities to create new, and strengthen existing, partnerships for the benefit of both students and staff. It will engage with the wider higher education community through dissemination of quality pedagogic developments and active research.
