SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE TRAINING

This course is a 1 day programme.  Employers are legally obliged to appoint an employee to consult with management on safety issues at work.  Safety Representatives must receive appropriate training to carry out the role.  Our course is designed to outline the function of the Safety Representative, and provide a comprehensive foundation in health and safety as per the Health & Safety Authority Guidelines.

Aim of the Course

This course is designed to provide the participants with the knowledge & skills to fulfil their role as a safety representative.

Course Objectives

The learning outcomes of the course is to describe the role of the Safety Representative and to familiarise participants with employers, employees and Safety Representative’s responsibilities under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 2005 and other applicable legislation.  Other course objectives include:

Identifying the contents of a Safety Statement,

Explain hazard identification and risk assessment,

Understand how to investigate report and prevent workplace accidents.

Course Modules

To ensure participants are awarded the relevant certification for this course, they must fully complete the 3 day programme.

Assessment

To obtain certification, participant must complete the following:

Full attendance is required on the 1 day programme.

Participants must complete a written assessment.

Participants must complete a Risk Assessment.

Duration: 1 day
