This workshop is provided by Dr. Pauline Joyce in the Institute of Leadership and is aimed at facilitating participants writing and using learning outcomes. It is primarily aimed at foundation year teaching staff but limited additional spaces are available.
Rationale of Workshop:
In order to provide a student-centred approach to education, healthcare professionals need to have a thorough knowledge and understanding of how to write and use learning outcomes. With the implementation of the Bologna Process an outcomes-based approach to learning is used worldwide.
Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the workshop participants will be able to:
• Explain how learning outcomes relate to the implementation of the ECTS system.
• Write learning outcomes for different levels of the National Framework of Qualifications.
• Discuss how learning outcomes link with assessment.
