Performing Market Research for an Invention

Goal: Enabling RCSI researchers to understand the commercial potential of their inventions
After this course, the researcher should be able to:
- Understand the resources available for market research
- Understand the importance of Clinician/KOL/End user feedback
- Identify the most appropriate market segment for their technology and any barriers to entry
- Identify the competitor products and articulate a value proposition
- Quantify the total addressable market
- Identify potential partners/licensees
- Understand how validated Market Research can support invention disclosures and strengthen applications for commercialisation funding such as the SFI TIDA and the EI Commercialisation Fund.
Target Audience: Post docs and PI’s new to commercialisation
