Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction – ADVANCED
The Advanced Mindfulness Course is a follow up course for people who have already completed Mindfulness Training. It offers participants an opportunity to re-visit some of the material from the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Course, be introduced to some new material and re-invigorate their practice.
Participants will practice being less reactive and judgmental, learn to step back and respond skillfully moment by moment, thus re-writing negative thought / behaviour patterns that are no longer helpful and breaking free of the delusions that limit us.
The course is experiential and includes meditation, visualisation, exercises, group discussion, and home practices – designed to cultivate mindfulness & compassion for self and others.
What does the Advanced Mindfulness Course entail?
4 sequential modules on 2 mornings – Thursdays Oct 4th and Oct 18th from 9.30 – 12.30pm
October 4th
1. The Power of Presence – aware, awake, amazed
2. Build adaptability and resilience
October 18th
1. Develop motivation, optimism and relationship skill
2. Cultivate empathy, kindness, friendliness for self and others.
To fully benefit from the course, participants need to engage in daily practice (a handbook and guided meditations are provided to facilitate this).
Target Audience: All staff that have completed the MBSR workshop.
