Literature Search in Evidence Based/Systematic Reviews

This session is part of a series of short sessions presented by the RCSI Library Research Support team. It is designed to introduce the principles and methods of literature searching for evidence based studies, systematic reviews and clinical guideline development

This one hour session will cover:

  • Guidelines and methods
  • Sources to search, journals and grey literature
  • Conducting a search
  • Techniques for testing and refining results
  • Expanding across databases and platforms
  • Managing, documenting and reporting results

Audience:     Academics, clinicians, researchers undertaking literature reviews.

Outcomes:   A clear understanding of each of the content topics.

Methods:     Presentations, live demonstrations, supporting documentation.
